The Digital Learning Environment group (TLT/Operations/DLE) provides support to distributed IT units who are doing things similar to what we do. DLE maintains up-to-date, “hardened” operating systems suitable for use by students in computer labs and technology classrooms. Many academic units across the university use the CLM service to speed up deployment and to streamline maintenance of endpoints in their student computing labs.
The Systems Management Service offers a basic “hardened” operating system with no user applications and some required Penn State services. Academic and research units across the university may benefit from the SysMan service when setting up endpoints for use by faculty and staff, research, and non-CLM services.
If you want to participate in these services or if you want to learn more, contact us. We’ll give you access to a wealth of information regarding these services, including a full list of benefits and a comparison of the CLM and SysMan services.
